WELCOME TO THE SMITHTOWN RIFLEMEN

The Smithtown Riflemen encourages organized firearms shooting among Smithtown youth within our community, with a view toward a better knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship; to assist in the development of the characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance which are the essentials of good sportsmanship, stewardship, and the foundation of true patriotism.

MISSION

Shooting Program Objectives

1. The instruction of Smithtown youth in firearm safety and marksmanship.
2. The promotion of practice and safety in the use of firearms, including the conduct of matches and competition in the use of those firearms.
3. Awarding of trophies, prizes, badges, and other insignia to competitors.

VOA Rifle Range

Training & Education:
The Smithtown Riflemen is the premier location to begin your venture into rifle shooting. Our club offers the NRA Basic Rifle Course to any individuals looking to strengthen their firearm knowledge.

The primary goals of this course are knowledge, safety and marksmanship. The course is presented in a manner to give basic understanding of rifle types, how they work and their basic components. Attention is also given to ammunition, its components and how it functions. Firearm handling describing sight picture, grip and care are also covered.

The Riflemen are scheduled to next meet on Friday, TBD. Don't forget your eye and ear protection.

Meeting time will be from 4-6pm.
